Hong Kong Pavilion at 2026 Bologna Children’s Book Fair
Jointly organised by The Hong Kong Printers Association and Hong Kong Publishing Federation, with sponsorship from the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA), the 'Soaring Creativity –Hong Kong Pavilion' project aims to showcase the creativity and achievements of Hong Kong's publishing and printing industries to the world. To support the expansion of Hong Kong’s children’s and parent-children’s books into overseas markets, the 'Soaring Creativity – O2O Hong Kong Pavilion 2026' (the 'Soaring Creativity' project) will participate in the Bologna Children’s Book Fair on 13 April to 16 April 2026, with the theme 'Hong Kong: Our Narrative' and the sub-theme 'STEAM: Words Spark Worlds'. The participation in the 2026 Bologna Children’s Book Fair will once again feature both online and offline 'Hong Kong Pavilion', with designated exhibition areas including the 'Industrial Zone', 'Corporate Zone', 'Recognition & Achievement Zone', 'Creative Corner' and 'Publishing 3.0+ Zone' to showcase Hong Kong's outstanding publications, print works, and multimedia applications. In addition, the emerging Hong Kong picture book illustrators admitted to the 3rd Go! Illustrators – Hong Kong Picture Book Illustrators at International Book Fairs Promotion Scheme will display their works and conduct workshops in the ‘Hong Kong Pavilion’. The enhanced 'Hong Kong Pavilion' will enable Hong Kong publishers, printers and picture book illustrators to connect with their counterparts and readers around the globe, beyond geographical, time and sectoral boundaries. It will further help Hong Kong’s publishing and printing industry develop overseas markets and seize business opportunities.

  • With the theme “Hong Kong: Our Narrative” and sub-theme “STEAM: Words Spark Worlds”, the “Hong Kong Pavilion” displays a selection of distinguished publications, printed works and electronic books from various Hong Kong publishers and printers. It offers a unique, creative, and technology-driven experience that promotes the STEAM theme for the global publishing and printing community. The “Hong Kong Pavilion” further showcases Hong Kong’s publications with technological elements and works of creative paper art, telling the story of Hong Kong’s technological innovation and creative culture. The “Hong Kong Pavilion” held the Launch Cocktail Party today (13th April) in the book fair with Miss Yvonne Ip, Assistant Commissioner for Cultural and Creative Industries of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR Government), Miss Fiona Li, Deputy Representative of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Brussels, Mr. Yu Guilin, Head of the Chinese Delegation at Bologna Children’s Book Fair (BCBF), Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Commercial Press, and Miss Elena Pasoli, Director of Bologna Children’s Book Fair as the officiating guests. They were joined by Mr. Matthew Yum, Co-Chairman of “Soaring Creativity - Hong Kong Pavilion” Organizing Committee, Mr. Alex Yan, Chairman of “Hong Kong Pavilion” in Bologna Children's Book Fair 2026, and Mr. Zhou Sheng, Vice Chairman of "Hong Kong Pavilion" in Bologna Children's Book Fair 2026, at the ceremony.

2026 BCBF Hong Kong Pavilion - “From NO to Know! ” Sharing Session

  • At the BCBF 2026 “Hong Kong Pavilion”, we were honored to feature Mr. Peter Lui, "Space Pioneer of Hong Kong" and author, as he shared his legendary journey from a childhood dream to the edge of space. Witnessing the astronaut’s first landing on the Moon in 1969 on TV was the spark that changed everything for Peter. In this sharing session at “Hong Kong Pavilion”, he recounted his story, "Dream to Fly". From the initial challenges to mastering the art of aviation, Peter shared how he turned the "impossible" into "possible", bringing the vast cosmos closer to home for the next generation.
