The Project, co-organised by the Hong Kong Publishing Federation and The Hong Kong Printers Association, and sponsored by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR Government), is supported by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Berlin (Berlin ETO) to set up the Hong Kong Pavilion for the 13th time. Founded in 1949, the FBF remains one of the leading book fairs in global publishing and rights trading.

He further said that the Project has showcased more than 54,000 outstanding Hong Kong exhibits to more than seven million visitors from around the world to various Hong Kong Pavilions. Four Zones Showcase Industry Strength of More Than 70 Hong Kong Exhibitors
This year's Hong Kong Pavilion at the FBF (the Hong Kong Pavilion) brings together more than 70 Hong Kong publishers, printers and e-publishers to present their over 1,000 titles and printed works spanning literature, social sciences, children's books and creative publishing. Under the theme "Hong Kong: Our Narrative", the Pavilion is organized into four zones: "Industrial Zone", "Recognition and Achievements Zone", "Corporate Zone" and "Creative Corner". Within its 264-square-metre space, the Hong Kong Pavilion offers international trade visitors and readers a snapshot of Hong Kong's culture, and showcases the latest developments and creative achievements of Hong Kong's publishing and printing industries.
Recognition and Achievements Zone Features Award-Winning Works
The "Recognition and Achievements Zone" of the Hong Kong Pavilion spotlights a number of heavy-weight award schemes, from which Hong Kong's publishing and printing industries have been attaining numerous recognitions. On the publishing front, the Hong Kong Publishing Biennial Awards* provide industry benchmarks while The Next Writer Publication Funding Scheme* nurtures emerging Hong Kong writers and encourages publishers to produce creative, high-quality works with international market potential, bringing fresh talent to the local publishing sector. On the printing front, the Hong Kong Print Awards and the Asian Print Awards are the awards, among others, frequently attained by Hong Kong printers. The relevant exhibits in the Zone range from paper craftsmanship to binding design, demonstrating the professional standards of Hong Kong's printing industry and the international recognition it has received.
*Sponsored by CCIDA
As a key international platform for rights trading, the FBF also serves as an important gateway for Hong Kong’s publishing and printing sector to enter overseas markets, develop international partnerships and expand its global reach.
Cultural Sharing Sessions Foster Cross-Sectoral Exchanges
This year, the “Creative Corner” of the Hong Kong Pavilion carries the theme “Cosmic Chapters: Reading the Future”, in resonance with the main theme “Hong Kong Our Narrative”. Through a curated selection of publications and printed works inspired by space exploration, the exhibition invites visitors to contemplate the deeper meaning of humanity’s quest to unlock the mysteries of the cosmos. Every breakthrough in aerospace technology stands not only as a testament to scientific and engineering excellence, but also as a profound test of human endurance and the limits of our capabilities. This year’s theme draws inspiration from a milestone that Hong Kong’s first home-grown astronaut who is also China’s first female payload specialist embarked on a journey into space, which was witnessed globally. The exhibits offer visitors a multifaceted exploration of the spirit of discovery—through the lenses of publishing, technology, and the humanities.
To extend the cultural exchange between Hong Kong and Germany, the organizers of “Soaring Creativity” project has donated selected exhibits of the “Hong Kong Pavilion” to International Youth Library after the book fair is concluded. A book donation ceremony was held 7th October during the Launch Cocktail Party of the “Hong Kong Pavilion”, with Ms. Lucia Obi representing International Youth Library to receive the donation.
