  • The Hong Kong Pavilion at the 2025 Frankfurt Book Fair is honored to welcome Ms. Brenda Pang, to share her talk: “CTV Makes your Print Shine”. Color is one of the most important components in printed matter, which can enhance the content and visual experience while boosting brand recognition. The reading experience is also directly enriched by improved image details and color contrast. In order to increase the color consistency for proof-to-press, publishers and designers expect that printed materials accurately reproduce the original colors. CTV (Color Tone Value), as an ISO standard and the first “Greater Bay Area standard” for the printing industry, not only helps to reproduce the original colors, but also enables effective communication between designer and print house, ensuring the printed materials accurately express the creativity. Designers can further enhance the color consistency by integrating CTV into the prepress. Speaker will elaborate how CTV brings the optimal colors for publications.

  • The Hong Kong Pavilion at the 2025 Frankfurt Book Fair was honored to welcome Dr. Sharon Wong, who hosted a talk on “‘Publishing 3.0+’: Connecting Cultures through Innovation, Bringing Content to the World.” “Publishing 3.0” project began in 2022, sponsored by the Creative Culture Industries Development Agency (CCIDA), and organized by Hong Kong Publishing Federation. It aimed to encourage the wider use of AI by local publishers and hence foster the digital transformation of Hong Kong’s publishing industry. The initiative successfully recruited over 60 publishers, helping them translate and convert paper books into more than 5,000 e-books and audiobooks. The second phase of the project, "Publishing 3.0+" is organised by InnoContent, co-founded by Hong Kong Legislative Council Member Kenneth Fok and Duncan Chiu, along with Dr. Sharon Wong, also under CCIDA’s sponsorship. The project is developed in partnership with Hong Kong Publishing Federation, Hong Kong Reprographic Rights Licensing Society (HKRRLS), SenseTime, Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre (LSCM), and Asia IP Exchange (AsiaIPEX). “Publishing 3.0+” focuses on training large language models (LLMs), strengthening content transformation, and expanding multilingual translation capabilities. It aims to drive the development of the cultural and creative industries in Hong Kong, Chinese Mainland, the Asia-Pacific, and the Arab world, while promoting Hong Kong as a regional intellectual property trading hub and a centre for international cultural exchange.
2025 FBF Hong Kong Pavilion - “The Living Classic: Reimagining the I Ching through Cantonese Chanting and Writing” Sharing Session
  • Venue:
    Hall 5.1, Booths D121 & D126, Frankfurter Buchmesse, Germany
  • Miss Jochebed Wu’s sharing began with a brief introduction to The Book of Changes, Hong Kong Style (2025), an award-winning literary work of “The 3rd Next Writer Publication Funding Scheme” sponsored by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA). The book fused creative writing with philosophical reflection. It served as an accessible entry point to the world of the I Ching, introducing readers to its symbols, rhythms, and enduring insights from a distinctly Hong Kong perspective. The session then turned to the endangered art of Cantonese I Ching chanting—a unique oral tradition recognized as part of Hong Kong’s intangible cultural heritage. Drawing from her personal training under Mr. Lai Sai Foon, a disciple of Professor Chan Cham Chuen, Miss Jochebed Wu offered insights into the techniques, tones, and cultural significance of chanting as a form of interpretation and transmission. Through Jochebed’s documentary screening, live demonstration, and discussion, participants discovered how chanting breathed life into the text, transforming it from silent scripture to embodied wisdom. They also explored the broader implications of re-sounding the I Ching in Cantonese: as an act of preservation, a creative reinterpretation, and a bridge between tradition and innovation.

The global printing market was driven by sustainability demands and regulations like the EUDR. The EUDR required deforestation-free paper, traceability, and due diligence, posing challenges for complex supply chains, particularly with global suppliers.
