He also thanked all exhibiting Hong Kong publishers and printers who made this year’s Hong Kong Pavilion in the BCBF the largest ever.

Doubled the size as compared with the one before the epidemic, the Hong Kong Pavilion in the BCBF 2024 features nearly 80 Hong Kong publishers and printers who bring 900 titles of children's and parent-child books to the book fair.

Six major zones are also set up for the first time to showcase more Hong Kong exhibits. These six zones include the very popular zones in the past Hong Kong Pavilions, namely the "Industrial Zone" displaying selected Hong Kong books, print works and electronic books, the "Corporate Zone" for exhibiting Hong Kong publishers and printers to display their products and services and conduct business negotiations, the "Recognition and Achievement Zone" showcasing the awarded Hong Kong publications and print works of “Hong Kong Publishing Biennial Award”, “The Next Writer Publication Funding Scheme”, “China Print Awards” and “Premier Print Awards”, etc., and the "Hong Kong Illustration Zone" featuring Hong Kong illustrators, as well as the "Creative Corner" which has a fresh look this year, and the new "Showcase of Greater Bay Area Co-publishing Scheme".

A record of 13 workshops, sharing sessions, and other cultural activities hosted by Hong Kong writers, printing experts, illustrators and other professionals will also be held inside the Hong Kong Pavilion during the four-day book fair.

New Highlights Revealing Hong Kong’s Culture and Creativity
Newly added "Showcase of Greater Bay Area Co-publishing Scheme" to display the Traditional Chinese books published in Hong Kong and the corresponding Simplified Chinese version published in the Mainland under the Greater Bay Area Co-publishing Scheme. The Scheme was coordinated by the Guangdong Publishing Group and Hong Kong Publishing Federation Limited to promote cross-border collaboration between Hong Kong publishers and their counterparts in other cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. This is the first time for both Traditional and Simplified Chinese versions of the same books displayed in the Hong Kong Pavilion.

"Creative Corner" with a fresh look to showcase nearly 70 children's books and print work with Hong Kong culture as the theme.

“Hong Kong Illustration Zone” to feature a total of nine emerging Hong Kong artists. Among them are eight Hong Kong picture book illustrators participated in the “Go! Illustrators – Hong Kong Picture Book Illustrators at International Book Fairs Promotion Scheme” (“Go! Illustrators” Scheme), which is organized by Innovative Entrepreneur Association and sponsored by CreateHK, including Keung Chi Kit who is shortlisted for this year's "Silent Book Contest" with his work “Life of a Painting”. He is the first Hong Kong artist sponsored by the Hong Kong SAR Government being shortlisted for this major international silent book contest. The remaining exhibiting artist is Pen So, an emerging Hong Kong comic artist who won the "New Horizon Prize" at "BolognaRagazzi Award 2024" with his work “See You in Memories” which is published also under CreateHK. Sponsored by CreateHK to attend the BCBF in person, these nine emerging Hong Kong artists will showcase their works and host workshops in the Hong Kong Pavilion. In addition, they will visit other publishers, printers, and writers at the book fair to explore international collaboration opportunities.

Two unique and exclusive crossover products specially produced for Hong Kong Pavilion with the design concepts contributed by the eight Hong Kong picture book illustrators from the “Go! Illustrators” Scheme. These products are Washi tape made from natural plant fibres by a Hong Kong printing company, and 20 paper chairs designed and produced by a Hong Kong printing company with professional paper art engineering. Upon displaying in the Hong Kong Pavilion, these products welcome business enquiries, with a view to promoting Hong Kong’s printing and publishing industry and illustration to the world under the industry-oriented principle.
